Page 28: Romulus and the Statue

Salvete, Amiculi,

Just wanted to show the inks for my favorite Amiculus images so far, and to introduce an element, if not a character, that plays a big part in Romulus's story, and his psyche: The Statue. 

On its face, a harmless chunk of carved marble. Yet nothing in "Amiculus" should be taken at face value.

Page 28: The Statue torments Romulus.

This foreboding sculpture was based in part on the statue of Augustus at the Porta Prima, but the feel of him was based on the Colossus of Barletta, depicting an unknown late Roman emperor. You'll see why I chose it as the model for a menacing figure:

Do NOT get on this guy's bad side. Or his good side. Or anywhere NEAR him.

Right now, it's probably all a little abstract without color, lettering, etc., but without giving too much away,  I have a feeling it will be one of the most intriguing parts of the book.
