One of the great things about crowdfunding is that it allows you to discover so many other incredible comic and graphic novel projects. I'd like to take a moment to shine the spotlight on one clearly worthy and exceptional one: SAVAGE EMPIRE by writer and game designer/producer Timothy Lewinson.

In a few words, Savage Empire can only be described as "Jurassic World" meets "Black Hawk Down" in graphic novel form. Pretty cool, eh? But I'm not finished yet. Let me segue with a shot of prehistoric predators attacking a skyscraper, and I'll fill you in on the plot: 

A dark and terrifying vision of Los Angeles on the brink of Dinosaur Armageddon.

SAVAGE EMPIRE takes place in 2018, when a massive earthquake lays waste to the California coastline, ripping it away from the mainland to form a new island. However, the cataclysm that caused the quake was anything but natural. Rather, it was triggered by government experiments with time travel. The accident opens dangerous new portals to ancient worlds, and dinosaurs - the original apex predators - enter our time. In a last-ditch effort to reverse the damage, the leader of a rescue squad must balance her responsibilities inside the danger zone against the presence of a mysterious mercenary assigned to her team.

The combination of ancient geologic history, dinosaurs, government conspiracy and existential sci-fi threats promises a potential blockbuster from SAVAGE EMPIRE, and as you know, I love a solid work of speculative fiction!
