Salvete, Dear Friends! So sorry I haven't welcomed you so far this New Year, but I've been extremely busy putting the final touches on Volume I. The first completed book should be reaching me this week, and soon, Roma Aeterna will be making its way to a comic book store near you! I will be debuting Volume I in a signing event at Laughing Ogre Comics in Columbus, OH on Saturday, February 28 from 12-3 p.m. This will also be the date that Volume I will be available to order online from my publisher, Ingram Spark. I will provide more details as the date draws near, and will be doing a major redecorating to add an order button from this location as well! Keep an eye out as well for more local appearances of Amiculus at conventions in Columbus, in Ohio and around the region! You know I've already got my SPACE table booked! More to come soon! |

Salvete, my dear friends! Two Thousand Fourteen was an amazing, surprising, sometimes harrowing, and ultimately very successful year for this budding graphic novel series. Since years-in-review are all the rage right now, here is Amiculus's 2014:
So what does 2015 potentially hold for Amiculus: A Secret History? Well:
Well, that's all from me for 2014. May the blessings of Janus be yours in the New Year!
Felix Sit Annus Novus!
Salvete!
We are one-third of the way through lettering for Volume One, and the pages are looking great! As a taste, here are the completed Pages 21 and 28! More news to come! Salvete, Amiculi, Just wanted to show the inks for my favorite Amiculus images so far, and to introduce an element, if not a character, that plays a big part in Romulus's story, and his psyche: The Statue. This foreboding sculpture was based in part on the statue of Augustus at the Porta Prima, but the feel of him was based on the Colossus of Barletta, depicting an unknown late Roman emperor. You'll see why I chose it as the model for a menacing figure: Right now, it's probably all a little abstract without color, lettering, etc., but without giving too much away, I have a feeling it will be one of the most intriguing parts of the book.
Postea continuendum... Salvete, Amiculi,
Postcards and prints of the six primary characters have been designed and are in the process of being printed! See the examples below: Just wanted to wish Giancarlo Caracuzzo a very happy birthday, and to share another great pencil page.
More to come!
